I scored C's all through Algebra 1 in 8th grade. Will this affect me in the long run for college?

For one class? Really?

Colleges don’t request your middle school transcripts.

Colleges could care less about middle school.

No one see’s your 8th grade grades. It won’t affect your high school GPA.

Algebra 1 is a high school class though, so it will show. Like how I took Spanish 1 in 8th grade. High school class, so it still effects my GPA today.

Not necessarily true - for instance, at my school, Spanish/French I and Algebra I are both middle school courses and do not appear on transcripts or affect GPA.

Is this a serious question?

Middle school classes can affect high school GPA if it’s taken for high school credit. I don’t really think one C would do much, though. You’d still have a 3.9 if you got A’s in everything else.
The problem is, Algebra I is relevant to physics, chem, and other math classes. If you get C’s in those classes because you have trouble with Algebra I it will hurt you.

I am sorry to break it to you but

You got a C in 8th GRADE!!! OMG!!! NO Community College for You! YOur Grades STINK!!! YOUR ACADEMICS ARE WORTHLESS!

jk.

Look, they, the colleges, really dont give a rat’s a-- about middle school grades. Okay.
DONT Worry.

Also please assure me that you arenot in the 8th grade right now and on CC.

Please tell me

I’m not still in 8th grade! lol

Any High School Classes taken in Middle School, do appear on the College Transcript, as they are taught upon a High School Based Curriculum.

Two C’s, in Algebra I, will definetly not hurt you. Colleges will see that you completed Alg. 1 through GEM in Middle School. Your Fine.

It’ll hurt your high school GPA a little, so I’ll recommend attempting to maintain a A/B average in the rest of your classes throughout high school. Or you can retake Algebra online during the summer or something to make up the grade? If your school offers.

Good luck.

It will have minimum effect. It was in 8th grade, so colleges might not even see it, even if it was a HS class. Also, it was just one C so if everything else is fine there is no reason to worry!
