Will this significantly help me?

<p>I scored 8 on this year AIME, and i will soon hear if i have qualified for the USAMO(Intenrational).Will my AIME score whether i am going to take part in the Usamo or not(because even if i qualify i am not sure i can participate bc i am an international student), significantly help me get out of the waitlist?Any USAMO participants that got in RD or did not get in on this board?Does Hrvard care that much about USAMO?Do they even know what it is?

<p>Qualifying for the USAMO might help a little, but it probably isn’t enough. Getting an 8on the aime won’t help.</p>

<p>Actually, I read on AoPS that MIT considers an 8+ on the AIME a great math applicant. So it will definitely help.</p>
