Will this southern boy be traveling to Harvard?

Haha, I doubt i'll get into harvard.

I've taken an anatomy and physiology class at my local Community College and recieved an A

All my academic classes are either honors or AP's (besides freshmen year)

I am a Certified Nurses Assistant and will be a Certified Pharmacy tech by the end of this year

EC's I don't have a lot of EC's, but I think they're pretty well focused around healthcare.
HOSA- 4 years, HIGHLY active, Vice president 1 year then president the next. Won state in a competitive medical competition. (huge club 200+ members!)
Habitat for humanity- Founded the club and have about 190 volunteer hours with them so far. President all 3 years.

Decent essays, really good recs.

I'm not a legacy, and i'm white.
colleges

Stanford
Johns Hopkins
Rice university
Duke university
Williams college
Colgate College
Northwestern
Harvard
- Going to apply just for fun, and because I love their campus! Does anybody think I have any chance of getting in XD? I'm not going to be disappointed if i don't get in.

My safeties
UT austin - automatic admission
Texas A&M

Major: International Relations, some type of other humanities, or neuroscience.

If you have any suggestion of colleges that I should try to persue with my stats, please tell me.

I wouldn't be surprised to see you get in to a top school- the nursing assistant is a great ec, I would say in at Colgate and John Hopkins and a definate maybe at Stanford and Harvard. Good Luck

Stanford - 50/50
Johns Hopkins- 70/30
Rice university- 70/30
Duke university- 65/35
Williams college- No idea
Colgate College- 100%
Northwestern- 75/25
Harvard- 50/50

Reasons: Good hook, meh GPA and SAT for your competition. With good essays you have a good shot. You do have good safeties, and I predict you will make it into at least two of the schools on your list.

Good luck!

I'll say no to Harvard, but probably to Johns Hopkins. The others, definitely yes, especially because it is clear that you know what you want to do.

I wouldn't go so far as to say that Stanford and Duke are guaranteed. In fact, I would say that Stanford probably won't happen and that Duke may or may not happen.

You don't get into Harvard with "decent" essays. Thousands of the brightest minds in the U.S and the World are fighting for a seat at Harvard, decent is unacceptable!

I just put decent, because I don't know how to compare my essays to others on these forums.

My essays are very good compared to other people at my school who have a similar gpa.

A student from my school was accepted at Harvard with a 3.9, so you never know!
I wouldn't be shocked if you got in, because although your GPA and SAT scores are a little low for Harvard, you seem to know what you want.

I'd say you're probably in at JHU and Northwestern as well, but I really don't know about the smaller schools.

Chance me too!
http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/587297-please-chance-freshman-harvard-class-16-a.html

Damn y'all are making me feel good about my chances!

My personal prediction is in at JHU, Northwestern, Colgate, rejected at all others. The only reason I think you won't get into Rice is because you are at a disadvantage for being in-state (you an me both!) unless you go to a feeder school, and your SATs are very average for Rice. The upward trend in GPA always looks good though :)

Honestly, nobody can predict what Harvard and Stanford will do. Good luck!!

If I get into colgate should I buy a lot of colgate toothpaste?

I feel like they should reject you just for that.

I'd say you have a solid shot at all of them, thought it might be a bit harder for you to get into Harvard and Stanford. I tell you, though, if you didn't have the Nurses assistant and Phram. Tech thing, it'd be a lot more dicey.

Haha, well I just checked and I already have 2 tubes of colgate toothpaste, so i'll be good for a while.

Well I'm glad my ec's are helping me, I spent most of my time on them.

It's kind of funny to see how optimistic or pessimistic people are on this forum. I can understand senior year is a wave of emotions.

Does anyone else have advice for me?

Oh by the way the medical mission trip I went on twice, 1 week each. It was in El Salvador. I even got to ASSIST in a surgical case! They don't have too many laws there, so I got to actually got to do stuff that would be illegal in the US even though it's extremely basic.
