I was thinking about writing over this topic.

-How I had to write a rap over the Mars Rover for NASA's High School Aerospace Program, which I attended in early June. I'm going to try to incorporate humor and my personality, which is energetic, etc.

Questions:

1) Is this kind of topic cliched?

2) Should I only focus on the rapping part?

3) Should I start with the end and then use flashback to tell my story?

4) How would I even approach, in terms of writing, the topic?

5) Any other suggestions or comments would be greatly appreciated.

1) It’s not the topic, it’s what you do with the topic. Virtually any topic can make for a good or bad essay.
2) Focus on whatever is personal, detailed, honest and revealing.
3) Try various ideas and see what approach is the most personal, detailed, honest and revealing.
4) There is some good advice here: [U.Va. Office of Admission Essays](http://www.virginia.edu/undergradadmission/writingtheessay.html)
5) re immature: that depends on what you say and how you say it. I don’t think that this topic will necessarily make you seem immature.
