I’m a homeschooled junior in high school, but have taken so many courses already that I only need 2.5 more to graduate.
I’m going to take those 2.5 credits during the summer and graduate then. Does that mean that I can apply to college as a junior? The college I’m planning on going to (Lee University) has rolling admissions, so I’m planning on applying in January 2016. Will this work?
You need to contact the colleges and universities you are interested in, and discuss your particular situation with them. But yes, you can apply as a junior.
Many top applicants surpass minimum requirements for graduation early as well. They actively choose to NOT apply early in order to bulk up on more AP/IB classes and ECs. Not saying you shouldn’t do it but your case isn’t unique and there are solid reasons to take the full 12 years.
