I think you are applying to too many safe schools...choose just one

SATII lit is much harder than SATI verbal, and you got 780 on that

ya I know.... Im REALLY incompetent when it comes to math.. im hopeing for like a 650 ill b VERY happy with that.
so any1 else wanna comment about my chances?

50 views and onlyyy 3 replies howw commee??

You could go either way in terms of top colleges... just keep in mind that it's so much harder for internationals. You'll get in somewhere good, though.

oky thanx... how come either way tho?

because they can only accept 1/10 of their applicants, and almost everyone is qualified. even so, you'll probably get into at least one of the top schools (i'm including chicago and cornell in "top schools" by the way... those two are hard) and all of your matches/safeties. just my opinion. good luck!

oh ok.. I thought mayb you meant that because of some weak point I have.. thanks anyone else plzz??

IBV, You have an admirable set of statistics and ECs plus an interesting background. There is nothing in your profile that would keep you out of Yale (or Harvard) and you are a strong contender for Cornell and Chicago. Having said that the combination of being international and needing financial aid is your major negative, so applying to a wide range of schools is a good strategy.

I'd also suggest that you take a look at Williams and Amherst. I'm not too sure about Amherst, but Williams for sure is need blind for internationals. both are academically rigorous and offer a lot of personal attention in a nurturing environment which is good for kids far away from home. Both are very interested in internationals, ethnic and religious diversity (score extra points for Islam) and athletic kids. Williams offers exceptional opportunities for dance and drama performance even for non-majors.

You don't need so many safeties -- just two or maybe three that you'd really like to go to. Again, financial aid is a factor here so you may have to drop down a few notches in selectivity (not necessarily quality) in order to have a financial safety. I think Smith or Mt. Holyoke would be good options for you if you'd consider an all women's school.

o ok thank you.. anyone else have advice?

i was thinking that u of Toronto would be a good financial safety but please tell me if you think otherwise..
Also , even though BU is not one of my FAVORITE schools, im applying there because they give out 30 full scholarships and id be really happy to go there if i got one – regardless of the immense student population.
I thought about Williams but if i do apply thr i feel i have to many reach schools. I might end up applying there instead of Cornell though; as I did hear that Cornell was rather stingy on international aid... and even though i like Cornell a lot ill not apply if i won't get the money to attend - u know what i mean?
Macalester is really international and suits me a lot and hence im applying thr even though im not sure if i have a good chance or if they give much money to intels
I don't really want to go to an all girl school even though mt .Holyoke has an attractive intel relations program with some other colleges.. (sry i forget the name)
I like NEU a lot even though its not top notch and seems to be hard with aid for intels; their co-op system is VERY appealing… and this basically leaves me with two safeties George mason and Marquette...
i know that its wrong; but i really don't wanna go to either. I wish i LOVED my safties but how could I when Yale exists?? Im only applying there because they seemed like suitable safeties with good courses and anyways if I followed my impulse to apply to only the schools I like id have a list of 2..
the question of weather or not ill get aid from/accepted to any of the schools i apply to is leaving me rather frazzled ..which leads to my sleepless nights and hence this thread.

Well thank you and have a nice day :)

bump......

bump plzz .
