Will transferring from a different major help me get into art school (animation) more easily?

I want to attend the animation program at CalArts. will transferring from a different college and major from year 1 give me any advantage or should i apply straight away?

Apply directly. If you aren’t admitted, then think about starting elsewhere and applying for transfer.
