I'm sure this has been asked before, but will transferring colleges more than once (twice, specifically) be harmful to applying to a college you wish to get into?

To be more specific, I am currently attending a private college this semester (first year). So far, half the semester has gone by and I've hated just about every minute of it. I am thinking of transferring to University of Kentucky (near home) after this semester with a total of only 13 credits.

The thing is I would like to ultimately attend the University of Georgia. Would transferring after only the first semester of my freshman year hurt my chances of getting into University of Georgia if I decided to transfer from UK after one semester? Or should I just hold out for one year at my current college?

The thing is if I enjoy UK I may just remain there for the rest of college. I'm sorry if this was confusing, but any suggestions or help would be great!

I transferred twice[St. Johns > SUNY Binghamton > UPenn attending one semester at each of the first two]. I don't think it's suppose to hurt your application, but you never know what goes on behind closed doors[admissions doors that is].

yeah I can't see how it would hurt your application, but no one can say for sure.

but you might want to think about how that's going to effect you personally...it's gonna be hard, going to college for a semester, leaving, starting new at a school for another semester and leaving, and then starting again. not only the transfer app hassle, but also making friends and such. just a thought.

There's a mentality that grad and prof schools sometimes view transferring twice as flakiness but, imo, it should be fine as long as you can articulate your reasoning.
