Will UC Berkeley accept me as a pre-public health science major?

According to this Assist page, I will meet the requirements for admission into the general college of letters and science, however it then says "To declare a major in Public Health you must first complete all of the lower division prerequisites (mathematics, biology, and social sciences) and obtain a grade of at least a B- in Bio 1B."

I will not complete these lower division biology or social sciences. So as a transfer student, can I get accepted to the college of letters and science and then declare myself as a public health major after i finish these requirements at Berkeley?? or is there just no chance I can get into UCB unless I take their lower division requirements at my college?

ASSIST Report: SMCC 13-14 UCB Articulation Agreement by Major

There is more to this. They maintain a list, the intended kids with prerequisites submit an application (I am not sure how this is done, but it is during the second year) to get on the list. Only the first 150 or so get to do public health.
Perhaps you could call the Public Health Department;Academic Adviser Tony Soyka

Hope this helps

I emailed Tony Soyka about this and he told me that you could potentially complete any remaining prerequisites in your first semester at Berkeley assuming you are accepted.
