I am a transfer student. I have an overall GPA around 3.6. Yesterday, I found out that UC Davis accepted. However, as I was looking through the “Conditions of Admission” it says that I have to “Complete all transferable in progress or planned courses with a GPA of 3.20 or higher, with no grade less than “C,” by the end of your spring term. To achieve the minimum overall UC-transferable grade point average required, you may need to achieve higher than “C” grades. In addition, you must be in good standing at each collegiate institution that you have attended.”
My question is that, is the “3.20” GPA referring to this final spring semester or over the 2 years of community college? Right now, I am taking 4 classes, and it looks like my grades are going to be 3B’s and 1A, so probably around a 3.25 GPA. UC Berkeley decisions come out 4/29/16 and I am worried that the GPA will be a lot higher than 3.20 so I clearly will not meet this requirement. So what would I do? Is there anything I can do about it?
I feel like it is really not fair for me to set a GPA above 3.0 for my final semester. In the Fall, I had to go to 2 community colleges, and I took 9 classes for 31 units. I got 7 A’s, 1B, and 1C. If I switched 2 A’s from last semester with 2 B’s from this semester, then I would be in a safer place, and my GPA would not go down drastically last semester, since I was taking a lot of classes. Do you see how I think it is unfair? Is there a way I can fight and argue about it on my side? Please help me. I need all the support and information I can get.
Thanks.
