@lindyk8 let me ask the school first.

@lindyk8 @BurntCorpse - Just talked to admissions again and I’m fine My acceptance page is back and everything!

@dm4488 - I am happy to hear it worked out!

hi all, don’t know if this thread is still alive or not but i was accepted to UCLA on the condition that i take the first class of the ochem sequence here over summer and get a B in it since i didn’t do it at my city college and it’s required for admission to my major. well, i’m here at UCLA taking it and it looks like i’m going to get a C. is my offer going to be rescinded?

Get a tutor ASAP.

there’s no way i’m getting a B, i’ve already run the numbers. even best case scenario the chances are like 5% with the amount of points that i have left to lose before i go under a B.

Maybe you can do extra credit. Impress upon the teacher the situation.

Or maybe he will decided to round up? Many teachers do that, but don’t expect it.

I am going to transfer to UCLA in fall and majoring in math. I am taking 2 classes in summer. They are ACCT and CIS(computer programming C++).I am thinking of dropping CIS class to avoid getting a D grade. This CIS class is my pre-major.
Does anyone know what will happen if i drop it?

Is taking the course this summer part of your admissions contract? Or are you just taking it to get ahead?

@lokwong Best bet is to call UCLA tomorrow and see what they have to say. Is it possible at all the salvage the grade to a C? I believe getting C is a better alternative than dropping it entirely at this point. My best guess if you finished all your other required classes on assist and CIS class is the only required you’ll be missing I would think you’ll be safe. However, if you’re missing more than one required class…it might get dicy. Again, I really have know idea and best to call UCLA tomorrow.

I am taking these classes in my CC and the two classes are on my application.I have call UCLA and they said cant answer me what will affect my admission status.

Has anyone on this forum really been rescinded for having spring GPA of 3.0 not including D’s and F’s?
Anyone been rescinded for not taking a class (major req) that was “planned” for spring on the TAU? Was supposed to take Math 1B, but couldn’t take it due to time constraints/couldn’t get added. Currently taking discrete math instead, which was a major req for Berkeley, but I got denied. Already updated my info on UCLA’s page and for all the other UC’s and waiting to hear back soon. IGETC is done, gpa should be higher than 3.0 this spring, and got all major reqs done except for 1B. Btw, Cog sci major here.
I got admitted into UCLA’s Linguistics and Psychology program with a 3.62 GPA. During my spring semester, I got a 3.40 GPA. My current cumulative GPA is a 3.58 (not a significant drop). I got a C in a class that wasn’t relevant to my major or general education requirements. I took this class out of pure interest. I wanted to open my options to different careers and broaden my knowledge. Do I have to report it to UCLA admissions? I’m worried. PLEASE HELP!!
You need to do whatever your provisional says. You can report if you want. But you will not get rescinded as its a mon-major course.
I just got an F in 2015 Sping for my Linear Algebra class. This class is the requirement for the major I am admitted at UCSB (Pre Financial Mathematics and Statistics). But it is not the requirement of UCD (Mathematics). I like UCSB more than UCD. I contacted with UCSB, they said that they can only give me an answer by the end of next week. And UCD has not replied me yet. But the deadline of accepting offer is is coming on 6.1. If I cannot get exact reply from these two schools, what should I do? Which school should I choose?
And I am also on the waitlist of UCSD. And the major is Applied Math. I am worried that even if I get admitted to UCSD. They will cancel the admission once they know that I have an F.
Help me …
Thank you for sending us the update to your senior year schedule. After reviewing your update based on the self-reported information you provided (you received 4 C’s your second semester of senior year), we have decided that your admission decision will not be affected.
It does vary case to case…
@janu This is in the UC transfers thread, not freshman admissions. Congratulations, though!
I’ve finished all of my major pre reqs for the psychology major at UCLA and decided to take calc 1 over the summer which is also an option for the quantitative reasoning section of the major requirements. I dropped the calc class a little while ago because I got really sick and missed too many days. Will I get my admission rescinded if I dropped this class, which was an option for one section of the major requirements, but completed all the major pre reqs, including the quantitative reasoning section (with a stats course)?
