@sonic23 Hurray! I’m submitting my changes today. Hope I get the same good news. I read on the FB group that someone dropped a pre-req last year and still got in.

I submitted mine Monday morning, so hopefully I’ll hear back before the weekend. I’d like to relax my nerves this weekend!

Hey guys:

I got accepted to UCSB as a Pre-Econ Accounting Major.

I will have IGETC and my Premajor classes all done by summer.

My counselor said that if I don’t have Business Calc done by the end of Spring 2014 my admission will be cancelled and that I would have to appeal.

If I send an appeal midway through summer 2014 semester with a grade check of my Business Calc class do you think I can reverse this???

I will receive an incomplete grade in my major class this semester, it is not pre-req though. I’m wondering do I have to complete it prior to transfer? Or can I just leave it incomplete?

@sonic23 Hey so after you sent your academic change, they sent you an email? or did you have to check your Myapplication again? did your admissions contract change? sorry for the many questions, I just sent in my academic change for a dropped class and I’m super nervous !

@ericxxd They sent me an email, my application site changed from acceptance letter to a message that they would contact me, which they did, and my admission contract has not changed so far.

@TonyStark93

If it specifically says by Spring 2014, and you take it during the summer, I doubt they’ll reverse their decision.

Even if you sent them an appeal, you’re leaving a lot up to chance. What if they don’t accept you through the appeal? You’d be left without anywhere to go to the fall.

If I were you, I’d strongly consider submitting my SIR to another UC, and if UCSB does accept my appeal midway through summer, I’d ask if I can send them my SIR and notify the other UC that I plan to attend UCSB.

@Summer1990

I’d ask a UC admissions counselor that question. Also, keep in mind that after a year, it will turn into an F, which will most likely ruin your CC GPA (A lot of graduate schools factor in your CC GPA even though you attended a UC/CSU).

I know for a fact if I get a D or F my admissions will be rescinded. I am a Bio major and planning to go to UCSD. I am currently not passing my bio class and half the semester has gone by. It was a mistake to apply as a Bio major, I have realized (too late) it is not my area of interest or forte. I didn’t even expect to get accepted to UCSD when I applied. If I do attend UCSD I would most likely change my major if I could, possibly to Chemistry or something that doesn’t give me so much grief. If I request change in major now before attending what would happen to my admissions? Honestly I feel the only thing I can do now is bust my butt and hope and pray I get a C. Dropping is probably not an option.

still waiting response from ucla! anyone got response yet?

They responded me on my email. They say they can’t discuss hypothetical questions about dropping classes. They also said they don’t recommend dropping any classes and it may or may not have an effect on my general admission. They told me to report right away about any changes in my classes. They will notify me in 15 days if this change revoked my application or not.

when you guys turned in your academic changes for UCLA, how long did it take for your congratulations page to turn to it is being reviewed?

@ericxxd I submitted my changes on Monday morning and my congratulations went away this morning :-(. How long for yours?

i just submitted my academic change yesterday haha so it hasn’t changed yet. @2016Candles

Hi,

I have been admitted by UCLA, but I will only have 58 credits by the end of spring. Will they revoke the acceptance? Thanks

@Bengkoang, it’s in your best interest to submit the form and let them know you plan on taking a 3 unit class before fall. I I hope that they’ll let you do that since they already offered you admission, however I know they’re pretty strict on the 60 unit minimum. Goodluck!

Got in UCB, but my GPA for the Spring semester will be lower than the required GPA. (3.0)
I am so worried, not sure what should I do. : (

@Couldbeit - the semester is not over. Why are you so sure your GPA will drop.

@ Yenmor
We have 5 tests, and I already got the score of 4 of them : (

@it might seem impossible but maybe you can talk to the professor. It can’t hurt. Maybe he will allow extra credit? Is it possible to raise your grades in the classes that you are not worried about so overall GPA is 3.0 or above ?
Is it too late to withdraw?
