I just got accepted off the waitlist at UCR today and I submitted my SIR already. I then realized I have to send in my final transcript which although doesn’t contain any Ds or Fs was rather poor. I got a 2.6 gpa last semester because I got like 3 Cs and 3 Bs. I’m scared they will revoke. Any thoughts
What does the admission contract say?
For most of the UC’s you need to maintain a UC GPA of 3.0 with no D’s or F’s if a Freshman. For transfers, you need to maintain close to your submitted GPA with no D’s or F’s. If unsure, you should call them to clarify. They will usually review on a case by case basis, so only admissions can tell you what they will do.
Call Monday…
Under the “Provisions of Admission” section it clearly states that I must, 1. Complete all courses listed on your application with a C or better, 2. Graduate from high school, 3. Submit all final transcripts by July 1, if you complete summer course work send final transcripts by September 15.
No where does it ever mention anything about maintaining a 3.0 UC Gpa.
@Gumbymom @DPattt
It sounds like you are definitely fine then. I wouldn’t worry too much but, if you are still unsure, just give them a call. @buffmelon
@DPattt I will for Sure. Thanks for the advice.
No problem @buffmelon
@buffmelon: I just stated the provisional admission GPA required by UCD for my son, so I assumed that all the UC’s have the same provisional statement. Glad to see that everything is fine.
@Gumbymom oh great. I thought that you were stating a UC Wide Policy. I’ve been uneasy about my acceptance ever since I got it I think I’m just gonna try and relax now and stop thinking so negatively. thank you for the insight though, very helpful.
Actually UCR is pretty lenient with their provisional admission. UCLA/UCB requires a Unweighted GPA of 3.0 with no more than 2 C’s in Senior classes. It seems like each school holds applicants up to a different standard. Good Luck and enjoy UCR.
@Gumbymom Thank you, I know I will UCR has always been where I wanted to go!
