Will University of Waterloo (CS) be expensive for me?

I'm looking for a high quality CS safety school to add into my list and I'm wondering if University of Waterloo could be that school. I heard Canadian schools are cheaper but not entirely sure about this...

I have a 2220SAT / >100 WGPA / couple 5s on APs / 800 on SATII Math, 780 Physics, 780 US if that will qualify me for any merit aid.

Btw I'm in NY and before you suggest me Stony Brook, I know it's a great CS school but I'm trying to find a better option because I really don't want to go to a school 20m away from home / especially if it's a commuter school.

If you’re not Canadian or a permanent resident of Canada, tuition will be around $22,000 per academic year. Merit aid is quite limited for international students: [Entrance Scholarships | Math](<a href=“Future undergraduates | Mathematics | University of Waterloo”>Future undergraduates | Mathematics | University of Waterloo)
