Will UPenn accept me?

I am a sophomore in high school with a 3.8 unweighted GPA and 4.5 weighted. My junior and senior year I will be taking 6 AP courses altogether. I'm an officer of multiple clubs in school and participate in sports year-round.
The only thing I'm worried about is that I have 2 B+'s in both math and science which is where I should be my strongest if I were to pursue the med field. Do you think I have any chance of being accepted?

What is your SAT score?

I took PSATs in the fall and scored a 210

You are on the right track. Just try to separate yourself from other applicants, do something that would be state or nationally recognized or start some obscure club.

Okay, thanks!

No one here knows. Why don’t you ask them?

Uhh no. Don’t start some obscure club. Red flag: Here’s another completely forgettable resume padding robot.

Don’t ask for chances and advice from other HS students.

Here’s what you should try to do if you truly want to be a viable PENN applicant: BECOME someone who genuinely loves learning and engaging the world around him/her. Don’t DO things. BECOME something.

If you think it’s a laundry list of things to do, clubs/leadership roles to achieve – then your chances are already severely dimmed. Here’s the irony:real ivy caliber applicants – don’t need Ivy schools. They are already on track to do great things and a top school is just the natural after effect. In one sense, they aren’t focused on something so transient as a degree from Penn or Columbia or Harvard. Their vision is on something else. And that’s what makes them attractive to top schools.

If you’re just aiming to “appear” as a top student, then you’re sights are too low.

^Is a top school an after effect? Maybe but an Ivy League school probably is not. I see what you’re saying though. I think so many talented kids apply that many kids on track to do great things are rejected.

Listen to T26E4 ^, he/she knows what’s up. “BECOME someone who genuinely loves learning and engaging the world around him/her. Don’t DO things. BECOME something.”

you have a goodshot.nothing wrong with your stats.Become something.Brilliant advice!

Thank you for the advice! For the record, I did notice “jonesguy14” is a HS student but I was being polite and took into consideration what he had to say. I think you are right about what you said but are you speaking from someone who is attending or attended an ivy league school?
