Will USC be getting a new fitness center anytime soon?

USC's current fitness center for students, Lyon Center, is a disgrace. Does anyone know when USC will be building a new fitness center for regular students? (Not student athletes)
I know they are just about done with constructing a new student center, but it does not have a weight room or anything associated to fitness.

thanks

What, exactly, is wrong with the Lyon Center?

Dude, the Lyon center is great. It’s a better facility than most school’s, even those with a much larger student body. Plus the outdoor swimming pools and hot tubs are amazing. I know that, as trojans, we have a pretty big sense of entitlement but come on man. If you don’t like the Lyon center then hit up the indoor swimming pool and other facilities at PED, it’s a two minute walk. Sprint there if you want a better workout.

Go when the Lyon center opens and it’s almost deserted; no waiting at all. If it’s still not good enough join a club team to get your workouts in. If it’s still not good enough train and walk onto a varsity team.

Also I’ve seen a few of the varsity gyms they’re much less crowded but not much better.

For someone who works out quite alot, I agree with zpaintballer. The Lyon center is horrible (old equipment, not enough equipment, etc).

My time at USC has been amazing, but the Lyon center could use an upgrade.

Yes they will when the new UV opens up in 2014.

yeah i agree that the lyon center is one of the few things that USC needs to fix. sounds like the master plan has a new fitness center though, so i guess that’ll be taken care of.

but really, go check out any other BCS-conference school’s gym (for the general student populace, not the athletes) and i can almost guarantee you that USC’s facilities are among the worst.
