Does anyone know if SAT/ACT scores will be required in Fall 2023 applications for Fall 2024 admission? Or any idea when UVA will announce one way or another?
I believe they said an announcement will be made within a few weeks.

I believe that Dean J said the leadership has not let them know yet.

Dean J has been great about sharing information over the years for all of our Hoos. And, she’s also been clear that test scores are a lower factor in the whole application assessment. But, with our last high schooler being less strong on standardized tests, we’re hoping for test optional. (Assuming, of course, that it’s really true that applicants aren’t penalized for NOT submitting them!?)

Update: from their site:
We’ve extended our current test-optional practice for two years. If you’re applying for admission for Fall 2024 or Fall 2025, you’ll have the choice of sharing or not sharing results from the SAT and ACT. Whichever path you choose, we’ll consider your application with care and respect, and you won’t be disadvantaged because of the choice you’ve made.
