hey all.
I just received my fall grades, and they arent bad nor they are good.
My GPA until fall 08' was 3.87 and my major was math/economics. It is not an impacted major, and its Average GPA requirement last year was around 3.52
But this semester i messied up bigtime, and i got a Silly C in chemistry. Now chemistry is a 6 Unit class, so thats not good, and the GPA is down to 3.54.
This winter session i tend to retake the Chem class at another college.
So i was wondering if i got an A in that class, would it overwrite my C, and will it be intime for me to inform them at UCLA.
If you guys think that it is a bad decision enrolling myself for winter session please let me know.
BTW
i am a honors student/ TAP Enrolled
work for 30+ (have my own business ;) )
And i am a financially independent student, all by myself with no support.

im not sure you can do academic renewal for a C. you can with a D or F
plus, you have TAP for a nonimpacted major, no worries

Retaking it in another college will not remove the C.

You are stuck with the C but you shouldnt worry. Math/Econ with tap you will be in 99%

Malishka is right. With TAP and a high major GPA you will be fine. No need to retake Chem since it is not really related to your major

Thank You for your responses.
I feel really horrible for that C, but i wonder if taking another chemistry class and getting an A in it will be the only way how i can defend my C and raise my GPA.
Thanks

Sorry dude but you cannot do anything to replace or defend the C. Dont worry about it, it sounds like your an excellent candidate for both schools.
