Will Winter Session help?

I'm planning on applying for Fall '09 transfer, so I have a while (March 15) till the deadline. I'm a freshman, so the only thing colleges will see besides my hs stuff is my 1st semester grades, so 4 classes. I'm thinking of taking an additional class (or 2) during winter session, to score some credits. Will this help at all, because then admission officers will see more grades, 6 classes instead of 4?

BTW, I'm not taking the classes just for the sake of transfer, even if it doesn't help, I'm taking them anyway. It's because I want to get my stupid prerequisites out of the way, so I can take certain classes actually related to my major. And yes, that's important for me because I'm applying for the IR program soph yr, and they require classes like econ which I can't even take, because NYU has already 'decided' what classes I'm taking each semester, and I only get to choose 1 elective, but even that elective is a required class. It's hard to explain. Anyway can someone answer my original question?

C'mon, answer.

I answer all of your chances threads which are often along the lines of, "In HS I was a weed dealer with a 2.0 and no SAT...but then I went to community college for 3 weeks, and based on my performance, I predict a 4.0 for the next 2 years! what are my chances for Yale and Princeton?"

I think if you were to do well during the winter session, this would strengthen your application somewhat, especially if you had a weakish highschool record. I wouldn't expect a dramatic improvement in chances, though.

yeah, that's kind of what I was expecting. still, it gives them more grades to look at...I'm assuming the grades will be good.
I'm taking 2 classes winter session, so hopefully I can take the classes required by IR spring semester.
