if you’ve had a disease that isn’t quite as serious as cancer or something but its more than just a cold or bronchitis, would it hurt your chances if you wrote about it in an essay? would they think that i’m making a big deal out of nothing? or would they think that i’m not good enough to go to their school becuase i have the disease? please help! thanks.
<p>if it is a disease that you have had for a long time and will still have during college, i suppose it would make a fine essay about overcoming obstacles. perhaps it would fit best in the part when they ask if there is anything else they should know about you. i wouldn't want to be defined by a disease, but if it is your only idea of what to write about you could definitely do well with it</p>
<p>Don't write about the diesease in and of itself. If you choose to use it as a topic, write about how the disease shaped you and made you into who you are. The idea is not to tell them about your disease but to tell them about you.</p>
