will you be BANNED from SAT if you're caught trading QnAs?

If you're caught selling QnAs will they cancel all your SAT test scores? Or whats CB's consequence? Or do they not care at all/don't investigate. Or do they go online themselves and extensive search for these rule breakers?
I know that might be a little harsh but what if you have sold them to tons of people? Will they care then?

First of all, why would you even do that?
Obviously they’ll care because you’re exposing answers which give them a higher score and have a better chance of getting a scholarship than others who do it fairly…

Your scores probably won’t be canceled, since selling tests doesn’t have anything to do with your own test scores (unless there’s evidence you somehow cheated on the test you took or distributed the answers to the test, etc). Of course, that’s just my assumption.

You’ll probably get a cease and desist, and if you don’t stop, then legal action.

I think it’d be legal action on the basis of copyright infringement, not canceling scores.

Technically, CB can sue you and put you in jail for copyright infringement.
In reality, I really doubt CB has that much time on their hand. In 20 years of tutoring SAT, I have never heard of an individual getting “busted,” tutoring centers yes, not individuals.

gotmilk: chill. I was curious

every1 else: so they will put you in jail for copyright? (or they put tutor center people)

To tell you the truth, the SAT doesn’t really have time to “investigate” who is doing petty things such as trading QAS LOL…there is absolutely no way on earth that the ETS would put ANYONE for that matter behind bars b/c of tradng tests, b/c then alot of people would have to jaill based on the innumerable transactions that have taken place on these boards…

most of you have probably already read this, but this is related, kind of.

http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/ap-tests-preparation/341965-defy-college-boards-rules-your-own-risk.html

21: yeah that seems convincing for trading tests but wat about selling tests. do they investigate that

1) They won’t cancel your scores.
2) They can’t jail you for trading/selling QASs. Copyright infringement is not a criminal offense.
3) They can (and probably will) send you a cease and desist letter. If you fail to cease and desist, they will probably seek actions against you in civil court aka they will sue you for damages because you infringed their copyright.

And really, if you are just trading on lets say these forums, they aren’t going to do anything as long as it is through PMs. If College Confidential allowed people to post on the forums asking for trades, College Board/ETS would probably send College Confidential a cease and desist asking them to stop allowing people to do that. That is probably why you aren’t allowed to trade on CC. CC doesn’t want to get into any trouble with CB/ETS. If you are like a ebay seller and you consistently sell QASs, you and Ebay will probably get a cease and desist. But ETS isn’t like investigating for any/all trading of QASs. They know it happens; they are not stupid. And mrhh is right, if a center like Kaplan/Princeton Review is doing this, they will get into trouble. But as an individual, as long as you aren’t stupid (selling on ebay/craigslist) CB/ETS does not care about you and won’t do anything.

ok are you 100% sure about 1,2, and 3? so they wont throw you in jail first, theyll give you a warning

Again I’m not a lawyer so I can’t be sure about anything. They can’t thrown you in jail. Copyright Infringement is NOT, i repeat NOT, a criminal offense. I’m guessing if they don;t like what you are doing they give out a cease and desist. I mean they have the legal right to sue you for damages (money) and nobody can say if they will do so except well…them. They also have the right to cancel scores but why would they? It makes no sense and would be a bit extreme. Suing and canceling scores are both risky moves even if they have the right to do so. For example, you could turn around and sue them for canceling your scores. They would likely win in court, but lawyers tend to be expensive to hire. Same with suing you for selling QASs. They might sue you if they really want to make an example of you, but its extreme and not cost effective. They will spend more hiring lawyers to sue you than they will ever get out of you. And what happens if they lose? They would be screwed. Again legal disclaimer:
