will you change your myspace or facebook profile...

...when you start looking for a job? if not, are you worried potential employers will look you up and see pictures or entries you don't want them to see?

Nope. Honestly recruiters know that they're going to see some personal pix on there. As long as you don't have pix of sex and drugs it won't affect your application.

I actually got a job FROM someone looking at my myspace and deciding that I was the type they were looking for (nightlife stuff).

I'll probably drop some of the strange inside joke groups that I'm in, but I don't have anything remotely questionable other than those. I'm going to be an elementary school teacher, so the image I project in my personal life does matter.

I'll probably make my facebook profile so only friends can see it, and edit out some of the groups/pictures. It seems like a fairly simple thing to do when it actually can affect getting a job, and it's not like I have some kind of facebook rebel pride or something.

EMPLOYERS LOOK AT YOUR PROFILES???? hmm is this actually happening? dont worry i'm a high school junior so nothing bad would happen lol...

and even once you've found a job there are cases of employees being fired because of things on their myspace.
I don't have anything on my myspace or facebook that I'm worried about, but I keep them private anyway.

Yeah I keep mine private, but I don't think there is anything on my myspace that would get me fired. Unless my boss was a UCLA fan
