I’d go if I were you. Bring your friends (and ask her to bring her friends) along too.

Do it for her. Maybe it’ll be better than you thought it would be.

Take it from a guy who was once in a position very similar to yours.
GO. DANCE. FORGET ABOUT THE OTHER PEOPLE.
Focus on her and don’t think about what MIGHT be going on in other people’s heads.
Skip the after party. It’s not a big deal.
As far as if it’s going to be a “friend” date, wait until after it happens to decide.
You never know. She may be “the One.”
Just go, have fun, and see what happens.
If you don’t, you’ll regret it. Trust me.
I didn’t go to my New Year’s Ball, and my friends had an awesome time without me.
Plus, one of them had brought a friend for me to meet, so I missed out in more ways than one.

LOL I went to semi (its like HC) and I asked my friend to glue my nail back on ym finger and she actually glued her finger to mine. We spend the whole dance trying to pry them apart.

It can’t be worse than that.

go, go, GO. you’re a kid taking 7 APs who posts on CC & u got asked to homecoming by a nice & pretty girl. u should be thanking your lucky stars, man ;)

edit:poor girl is probably telling her friends, as we speak, “he said he’ll think about it…”. so get back to her ASAP.

It’s fine if you don’t go.

But social interaction with others is just too damn important in this world, whether it is good or bad. Your personality does not sound exactly like future success material, unless you are truly brilliant at whatever you do.

not everybody likes school dances. i generally only go to the 2 big ones every year, because i think they’re lame. i go for the after party, and usually bring a slutty girl who I know will make out with me on the dance floor(thus making it okay that I can’t dance).

in this case, a girl asked you so just be nice and go. it sucks to get rejected. and you don’t need to walk around the perimeter. dance with your date. if she goes to the bathroom or something, stay in the middle of the dance floor and just move your arms/head randomly while bumping in to people, which is what the majority of people on the dance floor are doing anyway.

Big, you aren’t a loser after all if you were no girl would ask you out. my best advice would be to go with her, even though with that load of work. these homecomings don’t come often i believe, have fun and enjoy yourself once in a while. =]

There’s nothing more annoying than having a guy say “I’ll think about it”.

Straight up yes or no buddy. It’s not that hard.

Two of my friends had guys say this and when the guys finally said yes, my friends ended up telling them that they didn’t want to go with them anymore. Suckers.

EDIT: Like meadow said, homecoming isn’t a big deal and it can get a little boring. You don’t need a tux, or a car. Heck, you can even skip the after party if there is one. Just go for the 2-3 hours and make her happy :] She’d appreciate that.

Hmm I understand where you’re coming from. I went to homecoming once with some friends. It was kind of really boring.

Just tell her you don’t want to go to Homecoming and you think the idea of it is stupid.

Suggest doing something else together if she looks offended and/or hurt.

Although tbh from what I’ve seen Homecoming isn’t that big of a deal. So if you like her as a friend and don’t wish to offend her, be kind and wear a nice shirt and pants and go to it. And just be there with her, I’m sure she’d find that sweet.

If any of you are still wondering, I took the collective advice of the CC Community and told her I would go. I’m buying my ticket this week.

If this all goes down miserably (as I fear it will), I’m blaming ALL OF YOU. =) Cheers

yeahh, atta be

Good for you! I am crossing my fingers that you have a good time!

haha. Yay Cantankerous!

Tell us how it goes :]

lol thanks everyone … I’m trying something new, hopefully it won’t be so bad.

AHH yes lol. Good for you.

Making memories, it’s what life’s all about.

That and Kanye all of a sudden becoming America’s most hated person alive.

Yay, I’m sure she’ll make sure you’ll have an awesome time! Have no regrets hehe :)

Kanye was drunk. A legit excuse?

thanks lol

and about the kanye thing: I wasn’t watching the VMA’s but when I logged on facebook about an hour ago my entire news feed was blown up with every possible iteration of “OMG I HATE KANYE WHAT AN A**HOLE” … it was crazy lol

“And plus, when you look back at it, all those APs and ECs really didn’t have much meaning.”

Lol @ the Yalie

what happened with him? :S

^Did you finish your bio?
