At Georgetown they said you just had to find 6 people to join and they'd give you $75 up front to get you started. Is that in any way similar to Michigan? Input would be swell. Thanks!</p>

<p>Student government and student orgs are big business. The annual operating budget for student government at a major university could exceed $1 million !!!</p>

<p>How is funding appropriated? Do any of you have experience starting a club?</p>
<p>There's a lot of red tape involved. You need to get some signatures, you need a constitution, you need some money, etc. It helps to know people. Funding is through MSA. It has a ****load of money, but a biotch to deal with.</p>
