Will you turn down Cornell for merit?

I'm wondering if anyone here who applied to Cornell would turn them down [if you got in] and instead would select a non-Ivy school offering merit money? If so, what school and how much merit money would it take? For example, full tuition at Case Western or somewhere else? $10,000/yr at URochester? etc

No. I'm bound to Cornell anyway :D

NO ( theres nothing else to say but apparently a message has to be at least ten characters to go through so i'm ramboling)

Hell no (well, I have no choice, but if I weren't bound to Cornell, "hell no"). I know I'd regret not picking Cornell.

No, never. I'm going to have $40,000 in loans when I graduate, but it's worth it to me. Cornell is the ONLY place I want to go to college.

I dunno, if HYP were to give me a full ride for whatever reason, I'd probably choose them over the $0 Cornell's giving me.

Anything less though...no. And that's without the whole "I'm bound by ED" thing. Add that and...well, yeah, pretty obvious.

if i were being selfish : no
if i were thinking about family : yes

Case Western I would because I have good connections there but not some crappy state school that just wanted me because I had better PSAT scores than the people attending that school.

Heck no. It's the accepted part that I'm worried about.

ok it was still your PSAT score and you're still in 10TH GRADE. please stop posting about college and being worried, because you're making me upset.

I suggest you stop crying or go find a corner. You're a junior or senior or something I suppose since you are attempting to belittle me for being a sophmore. And people of that age should not be getting upset over dumb things.

ok you need to pull your nose out of the sky for 5 seconds and look at the big picture here. you are probably the only sophmore meaning the majority of the kids here have 2 years of experience over you. i suggest you take their advice and not be so defensive.

I would turn cornell down any day for Stanford or even Rice or Duke

I guess I don't need to be asking what colleges I can get into but people can give good advice on this website. I know other sophmores on here by the way, I'm not the only one.

oo not good. thats like running around boston with your body painted blue and white, wearing a yankees hat, and screaming "GO YANKEES"

I'm gonna do that one day, minus the painted body

I'm going to do that, naked, floating in the Charles River like a dead corpse.

^A little too graphic^

Word, Fish.

U rochester is not a crappy state school; it's not even a state school. And definitely not crappy at all.

Either way, I would never trade cornell for anything...
