Willamette Decisions 2016

I was expecting it to come to my post office box, not my mailbox by my house so I hadn’t checked the mailbox in a few days.

My friend was recently accepted with a $17,000 scholarship. I think her first choice is Carleton though!

Congrats Lily! I got in too with a $15,000 scholarship!

congrats guys! were your acceptances posted on the portal or sent in the mail?

Son’s acceptance came in the mail.

namenamename they all come through the mail. I checked my portal a few days ago just for fun and it looked exactly the same.

guys, I’m so excited. I read a bunch of reviews on **************.com and it seems like the overall thing about WU is a really good quality education with good teachers and nice kids, but Salem isn’t Portland or anything and social life isn’t fantastic but I think this is just b/c of the size. I did an overnight there and you can definitely find parties, as it is at every school. Basically, I’m really liking WU. Sorry for run-on sentences haha.

I got an email and a call telling me I got in but haven’t received an acceptance letter in the mail yet. Anyone else in the same boat?

S got in with a 17K scholarship. Haven’t been to visit yet, so not sure where it ranks on his preference list, but it’s nice to have options! :-)

In with a $16,000 scholarship! Not my first choice, but a really nice school where I could see myself being happy–I did an overnight visit a couple of days ago.

My daughter got her “You are Willamette” packet today, with her acceptance and notice of a $17K merit award. She is very excited, as Willamette climbed to the top tier of her list after a visit in November. We weren’t able to do an overnight for logistical reasons, but she loved the vibe of the place almost immediately. As for me, I was struck by how friendly and welcoming the staff was, EVERYWHERE on the campus. Oh: She submitted her application via the Common App on November 17.

S2 accepted with merit money. Very, very happy. :)

Congrats to all!

Congratulations to everyone accepted. Best wishes to those still waiting a decision.

I submitted my Leader’s App a while ago, but I had been waiting on a recommendation (I notified them about it, they said it was fine) and so all my materials were received, according to them, on November 9th, and I haven’t gotten any word since… Anyone else in this position?

i think that’s what happened to me. i checked my school forms section of the common app on november 15th and realized two of my teacher recommendations had not been submitted to chapel hill or willamette. this is because they were sent through the common app and not through naviance, the system my school now uses. the common app had deleted two of my recommendations and since they were uploaded i haven’t heard anything…

I actually didn’t use the Common App though, and my teacher sent the recommendation through snail mail (the school said I didn’t need any recs for the Leader’s App, but I decided I’d be safe haha). They had sent me an email confirming that all of my materials were received and they were ready to review my application, but… I haven’t heard anything in officially a month :/

NEVER MIND! IT CAME TODAY! I am so happy. Willamette’s my top choice, so I’m… gaaaah I’m so excited!

D in with $17k - got packet today. Submitted common app marked RD late November. Couldn’t do EA2 or official Leaders because of SCEA restriction. I was about to have her call admissions to change her status to EA2, so timing was good. Still must go through whole FA process to see what grant mix is as they don’t meet 100% necessarily. As said above, though, nice to have an option going into the holidays. D is much more upbeat about finishing other RD apps after ego boost - was needed after Friday rejection.
We visited summer before last and she really liked it - hasn’t been to classes yet, though.

Just got accepted today  !
