William and Mary Business school vs UVA's Business School?

Hey guys, deciding between W&M business school and UVA’s business school as a transfer student. Got admitted to UVA’s business school since W&M you need to apply after you get admitted. Just wondering what your opinions were on both schools? For UVA, I would need to take classes over the summer in order to meet the prerequisites, but for William and Mary, my prereqs are already fulfilled. Thoughts?

UVA would be my recommendation. If you are super serious and want a smaller and more focused culture W and M would be a good fit.
UVA biz school is top notch. The fun college type opportunities with sports, traditions, clubs and history - I would choose UVA.

The summer courses will get you used to getting around campus and the pace of classes etc. - great way to transition into your new school.

Both excellent schools in general and excellent business schools. Don’t know your interests within business but UVA has a major advantage in banking if that’s important. They are heavily recruited and would be considered a target. Also better recruiting for consulting although W & M does quite well with many top consulting firms, especially in the DC area with all those federal contracts. If banking or consulting is not your endgame, they probably both get you where you want to go in corporate America, although UVA has a stronger, broader brand.

All that said, these are very different schools re fit. Larger (although not big) school with all the great sports, spirit, etc. at UVA vs. a smaller, far more intimate (really feels like an LAC) reserved / quirky place like W&M. Most kids would identify more with one camp, although I’m sure some could be happy in both. S took a close look at W&M. Was honored to be admitted. Thought everyone was super nice and welcoming…but he just didn’t feel like it was for him as he sensed a lack of excitement. Don’t get me wrong. There’s a ton of school pride in the Tribe but it’s not fermented in the traditional college atmosphere of sports and social gatherings. So if you’re looking for that, UVA all day long.

They are both very good, but UVA is usually considered better. I find Poets and Quants is a good source of information. It has UVA ranked 2nd for undergraduate and W&M ranked 12th. Summer school may help get you acclimated to the school. Either way you go you have good options. For the broader school, UVA is obviously larger, has ACC sports. W&M is smaller, more residential, more undergraduate focused.

Poets & Quants ranks the University of Virginia undergraduate school of business at #2, with employment ranked #3 and academic experience ranked #1. Virginia Darden by a country mile.

Virginia is too good to pass up unless headed to Wharton.

W&M is ranked #4 for academic experience, but job placement is well behind Virginia Darden.
