William and Mary Class of 2015 Decisions

Hey everyone, just wanted to start a thread for everyone who applied to W&M. I just got my email about an hour ago and figured I would start this.

I was rejected for the Fall 2011 term.
State: PA
Gender: Male
GPA: 3.8 W
SAT: 1980 (630 CR, 710 M, 640 W)

Reflections: I'm sad that I got rejected from W&M and I really felt this was the school for me for a while. It was a complete reach for me but I figured I'd try anyway. I can't say I'm shocked; W&M is a great school with such talented students that I can honestly say I'm proud of those who were excepted and excited for those who choose to attend next year!

Congratulations to those who were accepted and to those who were waitlisted or denied: Do not give up hope! There is a school out there for you!

Sorry for the double post, I wanted to make sure everyone had access to the decision thread ASAP.

I want to give a big thank you to the admissions team, especially whichever officer responds via W&M Admission on CC. You’ve been a great help for me through this whole applying process. I’ve felt more confident in the process and have nothing but positive things to say about you. You respond to every thread and try to help each individual poster, and I just think it’s great that W&M takes such great care in responding to people and trying to help them, regardless of who they are.

I’ll let other posters speak for themselves, but I’m sure they’ll have nothing but wonderful things to say about you. I was rejected, so I’m sad and can’t find all of the right words to express my gratitude. Life goes on and I’ll be pursuing college at another university next year, but I will definitely be applying to W&M for graduate school. Life goes on, don’t be discouraged and try again!

Wait decision emails are going out?

i still haven’t heard  i’ll be staring at my email until it comes in though. i had a friend who was waitlisted and another who was denied…haven’t heard from anyone who’d been accepted yet :(

maybe acceptances haven’t been sent yet  ?

Allnycolleges, I can’t speak for anyone else, but I got my email tonight.

To both Allnycolleges and lepage, BEST OF LUCK!!! :D

Reflections:
I was prepared for rejection, even though I put a lot of work into my application and optional submission. I feel like I will be just as happy at my back-up school though.

Good luck to the rest of you.

so so sorry boys…you both sound like such fantastic people. Yuppitt, I’m really impressed with your maturity! Best of everything to you both! Any college will be very lucky to admit you.

Decisions are in the process of being released and given the number of permutations of emails to be sent and the unpredictability of individual servers, it’s hard predict when decisions will land in in-boxes but we promise to post when all decisions have left our email server.

We do feel for those we are unable to admit. We know that the news is disappointing rather expected or not and believe me, we appreciated all of the thought and effort that went in to each individual application and we thoroughly enjoyed reading applications over these past three months. We are absolutely in awe of all of the accomplishments of our applicants and we are truly honored to receive such wonderful applications eacy and every year. A series of Admit It! blogs will be posted tomorrow providing more insight into the decisions made and how they were made.

YuppittTales, thank you for your incredibly kind words especially at this particular time in your relationship with us. We wish you and all of our applicants all the best

agreed! @ulcerita

soooo upset! w&m was my number 1!

Female waitlisted in NJ.

33 ACT, 3.9 unweighted GPA.

W&M Admissions - is there any hope for those on the waitlist?

Waitlisted OOS

GPA: 4.0 UW/4.8 W
11 APs total
I’m chill; it wasn’t my top choice, and I know out of state is competitive.
Good luck to all! And congrats to those who are accepted! :)

WOW zazzle99, I know it’s not all about the numbers but I’m shocked!

W&M Admission-the links in my email are not working so I can’t access the waitlist response form or faq’s. Anybody else having problems?

Rejected - out of state
2200 SAT
3.8 UW GPA
Hardest curriculum my school offers (5 APs)

NewJerseyMom, unfortunately, as explained in your letter/email, there is no way to predict at the moment whether or not we will use the waitlist. We have to wait until May/June to see how those we admitted respond to our offers and see whether or not we meet our enrollment goals. We encourage you to visit the Waitlist FAQ site provided in the email for more information.

Likely the posts that come forward regarding decisions made and stats of those individuals will confuse and surprise people. Due to the competitiveness of our pool and the selective nature of our process, it is not uncommong for amazing students to not be admitted. A series of Admit It! Blogs posted tomorrow will try to explain the decisions we make and how we make them in more detail. Suffice it to say there are far more students with stellar numbers in our pool than we can admit.

Jrk393, we cannot make the waitlist sites public but if you want to private message us we will be happy to provide you URLs

pretty surprised with the wait-list expected rejection, so I’m pretty happy.

ethanp, that’s the crazy thing. Some people are dejected by our decisions and others are pleasantly surprised.

wow… still no acceptances

W&M was my daughter’s number one choice. She knew what the odds for an out of state female applying regular decision were. However, it still hurts.
