William and Mary suicide record

I heard that William and Mary has the highest suicide rate, what is up with this.

People say that about Cornell too...

Point being, you can't believe everything you hear :-)

yawn

find me some stats. Schools that have a reputation for being hard and grading tough always get suicide rumors.

I haven't heard too many things about suicide at UChicago, suprising huh?

I always heard Dartmouth was up there, so I'm thinking it's all just rumors. I'm not sure there's an official report on that subject

If you have a decent head on your shoulders and won't think of killing yourself if you get a bad grade, don't worry about suicide statistics. You know yourself better than anyone else.

NYU has the highest suicide rate. Didn't 5 or 6 kids do swan dives off buildings from that school back in 2005?

I even heard about the NYU suicides in Ireland. There were a few students (undergraduate and postgraduate if I am not mistaken) that killed themselves by jumping from buildings. Very sad.

Dartmouth and suicides?? Dartmouth has some of the happiest students out there. You're silly.

George Washington had a bunch of kids kill themselves. I've also heard that CMU and Cornell have a high rate. However, CMU and Cornell have high workloads so people may just speculate.

Lol, Dartmouth? Yeah right. Last place on this list.

I've always heard about MIT

According to "Untangling the Ivy League 2006" by College *******, it isn't Cornell. "Cornell ranked number four out of 11 peer institutions reviewed by the Boston Globe. The study surveyed the decade from 1990 to 2000 and found that, on average, there were 5.7 deaths per 100,000 per year. With Cornell's 14,000 undergrads, it ranked below MIT, Harvard and Duke. The study also found the national suicide average among colleges to be 10 students per 100,000 per year." pg. 43.

That's weird. Why would they censor out the word Pro.wler?
