<p>I have visited both William and Mary and University of Virginia. I like both schools equally, but I only want to take the time to apply to one of them. My question is which one is easier to get in for an out of state student?</p>

<p>I think out-of-state admissions are roughly the same for both schools: very difficult.</p>
<p>practically identical. you'll hear stories about students getting into uva and not w&m, stories about kids getting into w&m and not uva, both, and neither. No real difference.</p>
<p>UVA is the more social out of the two.</p>
