Yeah I really wished they used the AdmitIt! still. I’m so anxious but I’m just trying to remember that I’ve done my best and whatever happens it will all work out. Good luck to everyone!
Getting so nervous about decisions coming out… we could hear in two-three weeks!!! I’m somewhat discouraged by the insanely high deferral rate…
I know the wait is arduous, guys, but I promise everything will work out how it should! Applying to college is stressful no matter what, try not to make it worse by fixating on it like I did.
And of course remember that if you are deferred - or even denied - it’s not the end of the world. There is a college out there for you, and it might still be W&M! Please feel free to PM me if you need to debrief after the decisions go out in a couple of weeks. I’m here for you!

Guys they just started committee! We’re getting so close.
I freaked out a little (in a good way) when I saw the new blog post!
last year they posted that they were starting committee late the next week on November 16th… could this mean we may get a decision pretty soon? Seems like they are ahead of track!!!
I have a gut feeling that we will know maybe a day or two before Dec 5. But, I could be totally wrong.
Those are my thoughts too… I’m guessing the 4th. I HOPE WE ALL GET ACCEPTED I SERIOUSLY CANT WAIT TO MEET YALL
How’s everybody holding up? I hope y’all have a great Thanksgiving!
Same to you @Hockeygirl58!
Fifth day of committee today… I read on one of the AdmitIt! posts that they convene for 4-5 days… thoughts on decisions coming out this week!!!
The admissions office closed for Thanksgiving (they need a break too, guys!). Today was either day 2 or day 3 of committee, and once committee adjourns it still takes 1-3 days for them to process everything and make sure the right emails are going to the right applicants. I predict we will hear back before Monday or Tuesday next week, though it could be as early as Thursday. They generally wait until after 4-5pm on weekdays so that y’all don’t get the emails in the middle of class, so there’s no sense in checking every five minutes. If I were you, I’d turn off email notifications on my phone/computer and only check for the “Decisions” blog periodically. The email’s subject line gives away the result (you either get “Good Things” or “William and Mary admission decision”), so be prepared for that.
Try too keep busy doing the things William and Mary loves you for (band, model UN, NHS, volunteering, and all that other wack-a-doodle stuff we overachievers have propensities for)! Don’t fixate on the decision release. Don’t over-analyze every blog, comment, and email from admissions. Try to limit yourself to checking CC and the blog only once or twice a day. Believe me, I know it’s easier said than done, but you will all be much better off!
And of course, remember that this one decision does not define you! There is a lottery aspect to college admissions, especially at schools like W&M that have twice as many qualified applicants as they can admit. I wish each and every one of you the very best of luck! Don’t forget to come back to CC with your results. Good or bad, we’re here for each other!
I think they said on their Facebook that day 4 of committee was on the 24th.
They just tweeted out that Day 6 of committee is today, and it will be devoted to Spring transfers.
No kidding? I’m not following them on fb or twitter, but I guess I should be! Thanks for the info!
I guess we will know by Friday, then! Maybe even Thursday.
Ah, I do see now that they started on the 18th, not the 24th. My mistake!
Will someone just clarify then when y’all think we’ll exactly be finding out? I’m confused. Are they finished with committee for the ED Applicants?
Yes, they’re finished with ED applicants. Kind of scary to know that your fate has been decided, right? It takes a few days to process the decisions after they finish up transfers today, so we won’t know today (or tomorrow, most likely). I’d say the earliest we will hear would be Thursday evening, but I’m predicting Friday. The email will come after 4pm and will be titled either “Good Things”, meaning you are accepted, or “William and Mary Admission Decision”, meaning you’re either deferred or denied.
They release transfer and ED at the same time.
