Incredibly excited to say that I’M PART OF THE TRIBE! Seriously guys, thank you. You all have been the best support system ever.
Congratulations to those that got in! Good luck to fellow transfers (for the spring semester)!
Hey guys! Checking in because my little bro applied ED and Im debating whether to check in yet - have all decisions been sent at this point?
@kvanderz Thank you for the advice - Im so worried for him because he wanted this so bad! I think I will send him a little note later tonight!
SO many happy tears at our house about the Good Things email!
Only problem - the online deposit payment system isn’t accepting my son’s wmuserid. (The password setup went ok, it seemed, so the 930 number worked, it seemed. We’re just getting an error message when we go to the next step to pay the deposit. Excitement turning into a little bit of fright that we’ve messed this up!) We’ve called and emailed the IT support folks, but…
eeeek!!!
Anyone else having trouble?
I got rejected… Before today I was mostly thinking I would get in…Don’t know what to do now…
I got differed to regular admission. I’m not sure how to feel and I’m confused as to what this means for my chances of getting in. If anyone has some insight please share.
@northshoredad1 - we are moving on to our second one, and I remember how trying it was the first time through. Our older daughter is at W&M out of state, and I have to reiterate that it’s SO difficult for out of state girls. I heard from a staff person at W&M that that’s basically a whole different admission pool. (Out of state boys are a very competitive pool but not as competitive because they have more need for boys to keep the gender balance okay.) With those stats, your daughter will have some great choices.
@kvanderz Your post on the W&M admission blog made me feel less alone in my deferral, so thank you. W&M has been my dream school since the sixth grade and my desire to go there has kept me on the right track when family issues threatened to tear me down. That being said, what do you think about sending in letters of continued interest? This deferral has left me confused and second guessing, do I stick it out and see if I’m part of the 10% that get accepted RD? or do I go with my second choice, GMU? I’ve taken the SAT three times and managed to get my reading score up to 700, but I doubt my math score will raise from its current spot at 560. My GPA as well is only a 3.87, because of bad grades from high school credit classes in middle school (family problems just do wonders for classes). My streak of straight As since sophomore year clearly wasn’t enough and now I’m left feeling pretty lost. Any advice you can provide is greatly appreciated!
Here’s what they posted about the deposit glitch on the Class of 2020 Facebook page:
“The company that W&M uses as a deposit platform is experiencing some technical difficulties this weekend. If you have not been able to submit a deposit, do not worry! We are currently working to fix the issue and we apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused you and your families”
@jas843, I am so glad that my post helped you, I put it up for that exact purpose. I’m sending you a private messagento let you know what I did last year. I’m sorry this happened to you, but please know that it has no bearing on your value as a person!
@jas843 what was it that you specifically liked about William and mary in comparison to GMU?
We cannot login or pay either
I got in! For those of who who have been deferred or denied and are thinking of giving up - DON’T! Be persistent! Follow your dreams! Who knows, you might only miss one semester. Thank you to those of you who have been checking in with me, you’re the best! It’s not just an acceptance letter that makes you part of the Tribe! It’s about what’s inside, and each and every one of you I’ve talked to has it! Sending love to all corners of CC!
Hey guys, I am just searching for opinions for William and Mary and luckily I found here. I am applying early decision for W&M and get accepted in. It is so excited to see so many people are going to be my college classmates. Hope to see you all there
