We do not yet have an exact date/time for when decisions will be released. It depends on what progress our transfer committee makes this week. Decisions will be released by May 1 via email and financial aid information is generally sent by email about a week after decisions are released.

For those who have May 1 deadlines at other schools we encourage you to contact those admission offices and let them know that you are waiting to hear from other schools and ask if you can have an extension on the deposit deadline.

How big is the transfer committee? For some reason I thought that only one person was in charge of transfer applicants. If I’m rejected, who would I contact to talk about what I can do next year to be more competitive?

good question mcbain, though it looks like they’re hard at work, they’re only replying on here like once a day now. I wonder if they’ll send the email first then post it on the blog…

Each person in our office has a regional responsibility in terms of applicants. One of our deans has transfers has her region so she is our transfer dean. However, just as with freshman committee, all deans participate in the committee process and we all assist with the review of all applications (both transfer and freshman). If you are not admitted, you can contact the transfer dean since it is part of her job to advise and work with transfer applicants.

We anticipate a transfer decision blog being posted on Friday. It will be posted that day regardless of when we are able to email decisions.

soychai, with the exception of when decisions are released, we are generally on her only once a day on weekdays. We try to respond to any threads that need our input every weekday morning.

I was just about to ask that question YellowMari! Is it transfer admission stats or something? Or is it an “Overheard in the Committee” edition?

I’ve finished finals, so now I have nothing to do but wait for W&M (and unpack). It doesn’t even make sense to say “well maybe they’ve sent out the email in the last 1/18 of a second since the last time I checked…” but that doesn’t seem stop me. =) Let’s try to stay calm everyone! Just a few more days. I’m so excited!!!

i feel like i’ll get the email when i least expect it…even though i’m constantly checking right now!! I’m hoping they’ll send it either thursday or friday…
It’s really strange but I knew two people that transferred last semester and one of them got their acceptance email at least 3 days before the other. I wonder if that will happen this time too…

Haha, I haven’t been stressing since I’ve more or less convinced myself that it’ll come on Saturday. I guess I’m not very good with getting my hopes up.

I’m glad I’m not the only one checking my email 24/7!! I know it won’t come until later this week but there’s still that small bit of hope it might be released early!

The blog posted on Friday will be about transfer decisions however the blog will be posted on Friday regardless of when decisions are released.

We are working as efficiently as we can and will send out decision emails as soon as possible. All decision emails will be released on the same day.
