Thought I would start a RD thread
Just curious about OOS RD kids out there. My D applied RD & is regretting she didn’t go ED. Anyone else in the same boat?

My daughter plans to apply RD as an OOS student if she isn’t accepted by her ED choice. It’s a terrific school with a wonderful campus, in a beautiful location–the only real downside is how hard it is to get to if you’re not driving there!
Yes, I agree by car is the only way, but we feel it is worth the trip
@RayManta Which school did she ED? My D only did some EA. The rest are RD
Fly into Richmond or Newport News and rent a car.
UberX from NN airport is $28.
Not that hard to get to.
We were forced to fly into Norfolk when we visited. It comes down to whether you prefer to spend your time driving or waiting for a connection.
@swimmomofficial Amherst…
If it makes you feel any better about the ED/RD decision, I think that merit OOS is pretty hard to come by there!
@swimmomofficial
Can she switch to EDII? It’s before the deadline so I imagine it might be possible. I know two twins who applied to W&M with virtually identical stats, similar ECs… one applied ED and the other wanted to wait. The one who applied ED got in and the other was waitlisted. By the time decisions had rolled around, both desperately wanted to go to W&M! ED makes a big difference.
I love the cute little Amtrak station there. Though of course it depends on how far you’re coming from.
@swimmomofficial My OOS D applied RD. Didn’t love any school enough to apply ED. I bet she can to change to EDII. (as long as the deadline hasn’t passed.) Worth a phone call to ask if she feels it’s where she really wants to be.
There is ED2. It is new this year. Very good option.
