[ *] Hooks (URM, first generation college, research, etc.): First generation; didn’t mention it, however, beyond the questionnaires
[/ul]Reflection[ul]
[ *] Strengths: Very strong ECs in Debate, MUN, YD and my political volunteering (tons of awards across the board and I think it painted clear interests). Solid essays, solid recommendations, and generally solid objective scores (GPA/SAT).
[ *] Weaknesses: I had a WF during junior year, but it was an anomaly and I gave a short explanation. Didn’t take Calculus or Physics (though the latter at our school is far easier than the science course I took as a senior), and some of my APs aren’t considered too difficult. No legacy/URM/didn’t play up my background as a first-gen student in a single parent household with fairly humble beginnings.
[ *] Why you think you were accepted/waitlisted/rejected: I honestly don’t know. I grasp that W/M is a selective school, but I can’t help but be frustrated when people who performed lower in many other categories (objective and subjective) were admitted over me.
[/ul]General Comments: As I mentioned above, I am very frustrated. I am pleased that I was waitlisted rather than rejected but the whole admission process thus far has been disastrous for me and W/M was good news I desperately wanted to hear.

Accepted!
