William Paterson, Rutgers Newark or NJIT?

Hello, I got admitted into Rutgers Newark, and probably will get into William Paterson, and Hopefully NJIT. I am from New Jersey and will be studying CS, and will be ultimately getting a Masters Degree in the subject. Out of the three colleges [William Paterson, NJIT, and Rutgers Newark], Which one do you think is the best to attend? I really like Rutgers and here good things about them, but NJIT is really tech based, and William Paterson is very close to my house and cheap. So its hard to choose... Any suggestions/insight?

Thank you...

uh, not sure, my brother goes to njit and he hates it. but than again he doesnt do anything extra curricular to make it a fun experience. i got into william paterson recently, but i didnt really like the campus, xcept that it was very contained. i dont know much about rutgers newark.

just weigh the pros and cons of each and pick which one you will like best. visit them again to.

William Patterson has a truly dreadful 4-yr graduation rate. I didn’t even know they offered a CS major. (And I hire EE and CS majors in NJ.)

NJIT has the strongest CS program of the 3, followed by Rutgers Newark. NJIT is tech based, which has advantages and disadvantages, depending on what you are looking for in a college. How confident are you that you will stay in CS and not want to switch majors?

Rutgers Newark sounds like the best choice to me, in terms of offering a wide range of majors, and having an option to transferring to Rutgers New Brunswick if desired. Rutgers Newark has a good business school (helped by its location) and also is strong in Information Science which is another major that may be of interest.

I assume you live in NJ. Another instate option for you to consider is Rowan - you could still apply there, the application deadline is relatively late. I’ve heard good things about Rowan’s engineering school.

What are you looking for in a college?

Thank you for your reply sacchi! I am just looking for a good Computer Science college, that will also offer me good theoretical/programming courses, as well as network and security. I most likely [about like 90%] will stick with CS as my major. As for after college, I want to either be a System Analyst or Computer Programmer… I think imma goto Rutgers Newark, and then transfer to NB after 2 semesters… Also really, you hire EE and CS majors? Whats your job?

I am engineering manager, and have an MS in EE. I follow CC as a parent.
