@Falcon1 I didn’t apply early anywhere. I decided to apply RD because there wasn’t a school I loved enough to do ED for.
@ASJU9511 So, beside Williams, Amherst, Dartmouth and Cornell, where else have you applied?
@ferrarepatrick73 Oh a bunch of schools. Since I don’t live with a parent, I don’t depend on anyone’s income, so technically I have 0 disposable income. Because of this, my foster father encouraged me to apply to a large number of schools I’m interested so as to find the best FA package I can.
So far, besides Williams, Amherst, Dartmouth, and Cornell, I’ve applied to Brown, Columbia, Duke, Emory, Stanford, Vandy, and Yale, USC (in SC), and Clemson.
I’ve been accepted to USC Honors and Clemson and I can pretty much go for free there due to my status and their generous FA packages.
That’s awesome news. Will you be happy at USC and Clemson? You didn’t apply anywhere in the middle, just hyper-reaches.
@ferrarepatrick73 Yeah. Originally, USC Honors WAS my Hyper reach. I was bent on that ever since I was a Sophomore. But I was inspired to apply outside of my small pond. Rest assured, even if I’m rejected by every single school outside the state, I will be incredibly happy going to USC honors regardless.
That’s awesome and they will be lucky to have you.
@ferrarepatrick73 Thanks!!
yah! That’s great news.
I graduated from a couple those big engineering schools. Was not a happy camper. So fortunate to send my younguns to top LACs. The financial at the top LACs makes them the superior choice to big public schools where classes are taught by TAs in the first two years. What a waste of my time and money back when I had no money!
@Burgermeister Haha, true! Well I’m glad your kids are having a great time at those places. Hopefully I’ll maybe given those same opportunities as well.
