@willdbk @Shoumei they did say they’ll release decisions by December 15th, but historically they’ve released decisions a couple days earlier.
I’ve been seriously avoiding this thread because while waiting on ED news is like holding your breath for a month, posting about ED news on CC makes the whole ordeal so much more nerve wracking. However, I’ve got a guess on when ED decisions are going to come out and I really couldn’t help but share. Below is a rough table of when ED decisions have come out in the past:
Class of 2019 ED Cycle – December 11th, Thursday, 6 PM EST
Class of 2018 ED Cycle – December 12th, Thursday, 6 PM EST
Class of 2017 ED Cycle – December 13th, Thursday, 8 PM EST.
Class of 2016 ED Cycle – December 15th, Thursday, Time Unknown
For the last three cycles (2019, 2018, 2017) I’ve sourced release dates and times from public announcements that Williams itself makes. For 2016, I looked at an old College Confidential post; one poster said that decisions were supposed to be released on the 15th, and the time stamps on the results posts seem consistent with that date.
There’s one really obvious pattern here: for the past four years, ED decisions have always been released on a Thursday. So, if we expect that trend to hold, then decisions will be out on December 10th for this year, probably at six, but possibly later.
Class of 2016 ED results were released at 8 PM EST on December 15th

Sometimes they are released early, sometimes not. I wouldn’t fret too much over it.
Williams says that it’ll release /by/ that date, not necessarily on it. The trend for the last four years, is that Williams releases ED decisions at around six PM on the second Thursday of December. So, if we expect that Williams is going to release on the second Thursday of December this year, then emails should get sent out on the 10th.
does williams usually defer or reject the applicants that aren’t quite up to par?
Does the result get posted on their website or you would receive an email notification or letter in the mail?
@flower12345 I think decisions are posted on the portal first, then applicants receive a letter in the mail shortly after.
