This is a part of an emotional letter I wrote about college decisions (Rewrite of the amazing song ā€œDriverā€™s Licenseā€ by the talented Olivia Rodrigo")

ā€œDeadlines, we crossed!!
I still feel the months that skipped by, all numbers, testing my reason
God, Iā€™m hopeless, youā€™ve moved on
But I canā€™t feel without you, babe (Ooh,Ooh,Ooh)ā€

Hope you guys like this . Seriously though, know that for any rejection or waitlist: youā€™re not alone, and you are talented as your own fiery star, destined to shine bright at a place that loves you for who you are, will be, and were.

Congratulations to all that got accepted!! Iā€™m really happy for you all and wish you the best at Williams!! Say hi to the Paresky center for me! :purple_heart:

Waitlisted! I was rejected at Swarthmore so I expected a rejection here, too. I was pleasantly surprised to be waitlisted. It kind of restored a bit of faith in myself.

I meant to write ā€œslipped byā€, not ā€œskipped byā€. But either word will work great for your next single

Another rejection for my son. Congrats to those that got in. This one devastated him. Heā€™s waiting on Wesleyan, Amherst and Dartmouth. His friends are getting accepted to the same schools that heā€™s getting rejected by, he is as good if not a better student than most of his friends. He worked way too hard to have this many doors shut in his face. Completely at a loss

Sorry that my post is such a bummer, I honestly am happy for everyone that got accepted. This has just been a very frustrating experience for my son

For what itā€™s worth, Iā€™ve seen that most kids who apply to these more competitive LACs often get into one and not another with no rhyme nor reason so keep up the optimism! Most of us are smarting for our kids about rejections and waitlists so you are in good company.

Congrats to those who got in. Amazing school. Truly. Think carefully before going somewhere to wear a sweatshirt someoneā€™s aunt might be more familiar with. It doesnā€™t get better than Williams. Just different. To those who did not get good news, I was waitlisted way back in the day, went elsewhere, and still turned out okay. And so can you. (Williams was also my dream school for my son this year, but he chose to apply ED elsewhere.)
