Williams College 2009 Transfer

Hello all - curious to know who applied to Williams for the fall?

Thought I’d bump this up again - anyone out there apply??

yeah I did. I guess we hear back within the next couple weeks?

What it sounds like laxman. Spoke to someone in admissions on Friday - sounds like they’re shooting for the 15th.

Hi guys. I just got an acceptance letter from Williams. Anyone else?

Congrats, Retro1! We’re going to be rivals in the fall.

Rivals? I don’t suppose you’re going to Amherst? Grrr :::lots of fist shaking:::

Mhm, grrr back. Are you going to Williams or are you still deciding?

I’m about 99% at this point. It seems as though everyday I find out something really impressive about Williams, and it seems to good to pass up, especially as a Transfer.

I got in. But debating between Williams and Brown at the moment.

both great options. which way are you leaning?

What are the transfer stats for Williams?

These are the most recent stats, at least that I was able to find on the Williams website

Year Applied Accepted
2006 106 8
2005 116 9

Hmm, I wonder why more people apply to Amherst… /kidding

Congrats, guys. Very competitive process.

Lol. Thanks OCC. I considered applying to Amherst - they have a pretty strong recruitment relationship with my former school and i know a few people who’ve been accepted as transfers. Also, I understand they are very generous with fin aid, in efforts to attract a more diverse student body. Unfortunately it really just came down to money. It takes dough to apply to all these places! So in the end it was narrowly edged due to finances and my dare devil spirit. I really didn’t think i was getting in due to the really high selectivity, but hey I’m not asking any questions.
So thats it, the story of my life. :)

Retro1 I’m considering transferring to Williams. Unfortunately I didn’t do well enough in high school so I go to Mount Holyoke College now. Any advice? I’m a first year and got straight B’s my first semester and have straight A’s now, two of my classes are at Amherst.
