Hi guys! I haven’t found a thread for Williams RD 2020 yet, so I decided to start one. Hopefully we can use this to offer each other any advice as we finalize our applications and wait for our decisions.
What did you all write your supplements about?
I don’t think I’ll submit a supplement essay, it’s supposed to be optional.
Do I have a good chance of getting accepted? I applied rd
ACT: 33
SAT math2: 800 SAT physics: 780
GPA: 3.3 UW, only because i transferred to a much harder charter school which hurt my grades a lot, but after a year of adjustment, I’m back to normal. 4.1 W
ECs: varsity sports, research, tutoring, several leadership positions in various clubs and organization, community service, etc.
I will have taken 9 AP classes by the end of this year and 2 classes beyond the AP level
I feel like I have a solid chance but I dont really know much
I originally didn’t plan on submitting an essay, but I wrote an essay on Nikola Tesla last minute, lol.
I haven’t been able to visit campus yet. Have any of you? Can you shed light on any pros and cons? Is it nice?
@nsliyromanov The campus is beautiful: the buildings, the trees, the foliage, the cute little stores nearby. I went during the fall and they treated us to cider and apple donuts, which was a nice touch. The only drawback is that it is kind of in the middle of nowhere, and, besides the college itself, there isn’t much activity going on.
Good luck everyone!
Did you guys apply anywhere else
@lauraazumah I applied to USC (South Carolina), Datmouth, Cornell, Stanford, and a few others.
Golly! The competition is so tough! I WISH I could visit but I’m all the way in South Carolina.
Still haven’t visited! Hahaha but definitely will soon. Where else are all of you hoping to get an acceptance from this spring??
@nsliyromanov Mostly Amherst and Williams. I also applied to a grand slew of other reach schools since I had fee waivers to spare due to my first-generation and financial situation. Other schools I’d love to get accepted to include Cornell, Dartmouth, or Duke.
How about you?
@ASJU9511 Williams, Amherst, Harvard, Princeton, gtown, and GW are all my best case scenario schools. Hopefully this thread will pick up within the next few weeks~~!
I applied too. Can’t wait to hear back. When are the results released? Their website says around April 1. Are some applicants notified earlier. Very nervous and excited. What about you guys? Good luck everyone!
Early writes go out within the next few weeks, not saying I’m expecting one but it’s still exciting!
Ugh I love Williams so much but im trying not to get so invested emotionally. It’s such a reach for anyone
@gracie21 Yes, it’s so difficult for most students to get in. I don’t even expect to be admitted, but keeping my fingers crossed right now, you never know!
@nsliyromanov They send early writes! That’s so exciting. I just want to hear back from them even if it’s a rejection, which is quite likely.
Anyone on here go to Window on Williams? I hear that you have a higher chance of acceptance if you did?
Anyone know when decision release date is for Williams?
