Williams College WoW trip

I got an email inviting me to the program, I would like to know a couple of things.

Is it really all expenses paid?

What was the program like?

Is it highly competitive to get into the program?

How do they pick students to apply/how many students apply?

Does it increase your chances of getting into the school?

Is it worth it?

Thank you :)

Yes. It is completely free (unless you decide you wish to buy some Williams apparel! :D)

It was fantastic; you should definitely get this opportunity at an in-depth college visit and taste of college life!

My understanding was that around half or less of the applicants were invited to visit.

I think their greatest factor was financial need. I’d still apply regardless if I had the chance :)

I’m not sure, but they seemed to hint that they looked at it.

YES. IT WAS TOTALLY WORTH IT :D

I have questions as well: What’s the date for the visit? Financial/ transportation aid? And statically, what is the percentage of those apply being accepted to the program, and ultimately to Williams?

okay! thank you! that really helped!! :)

do you go to williams btw?

I will be going to Williams, but I was also considering other schools. Nonetheless, it was a great opportunity to get excited for college :D

Finances for travel were all covered (except for, perhaps, checked luggage).

I believe that about 60% end up going to Williams, but don’t quote me on it.

What’s the date for the visit?

okaay! can you keep in touch plz i would love to know how your freshman yr at williams goes. Im really interested in the school

Feel free to message me, and I’ll get to it when I can :)

Does anyone know when they mail you their decision?

My son also got an invitation but he has never considered Williams as we know nothing about it. I’m not sure whether he should still apply or not. I’m not sure it would be a good fit for him though I do hear they have an excellent math department, which is one of his interests but he’s a conservative Christian and I’m not sure how much Christian support there is on campus.

Belly, I don’t know when it is but I’m sure it’s on their website.

will do! thanks

and @jz2794 it probably sometime in august b/c one of the sessions is in September i believe but you should def check the application

It doesn’t say on the application (I don’t think) or the website! Anyone know whe the decisions are sent out?

Yikes! I just submitted my application for WoW. The application said, “For priority consideration, be sure to submit your application by July 1,” but nothing about when we’re going to be notified of their decisions.

Just submitted mine as well! I’m off to Alaska for a month and hope to have a positive decision when I get back. :)

I love what I know about Williams and really want to visit.

Hopefully we hear back soon! I love Williams and this is an AMAZING opportunity!

Does Williams send you the WoW application or is it on line? How do you apply? Who gets invited?

It is online: [Admissions – Williams College|Admissions](http://admission.williams.edu/)

All you need to do is download the app and e-mail it to the nice lady! According to something written by Williams, the kids who are invited are low-income or first generation students or are from a minority background. Even if you are none of those things, apply anyway! Even if you don’t get in, they’ll remember that you took the time and energy to apply to their program! Good luck!

Did anyone receive any sort of confirmation email?

I didn’t. If I haven’t heard anything back by next Friday, I’m going to give them a call to make sure it was received.

I just received confirmation.
