For people who applied/are applying Early Decision, it doesn't matter if you haven't heard the news yet. I just wanted to know what they like in Williams and other schools they are looking at. Please don't put up GPAs, SATs, etc. I'm sure we all got 2000+ whatever on the SAT and have at least an 'A' average in school.

For me, it was the first school I visited that I could really see myself at, and all the other schools I visited after Williams was always a comparison to Williams. Other than that, great size, I've visited 3 times from roughly 500 miles away, and there were always new things to see, do, etc. I also have a love of learning and passion for athletics, something that reflects life at Williams. And the Paresky Center had amazing food. Amherst is just an anagram of 'hamster'.

Top 5:
1. Williams
2. Harvey Mudd
3. Davidson
4. Brown
5. Bowdoin

speaking of amherst, does anyone know which school students most often choose if they are accepted to both. I’ve heard it’s amherst by a large margin, but I’m not sure.

“Amherst and Williams are different sides of the same coin” I remember someone saying on CC. Maybe it was Gadad? All these supposed rivalries are just for fun. “It’s fun to hate,” I once heard a friend say. Sometimes people really believe it or get carried away, though.

I check that online application thing probably every 20 minutes waiting for an update, I’m going crazy with anticipation. I just hope I can get in!!!

Not really having 2nd thoughts. I mean, the appeal of getting into a 1st rate school in December and it helping my chances to apply early outweights any urge I have to want to see where else I could get into.

hahaha same here studentathlete i dont wanna start all the other supplemental essays before i know whether i got in or not at williams, but ill be stuck doing like 10 in 2 weeks if i dont get in!!!

I actually hear that they choose Williams…All the “college guide” books I’ve read it says “Most often preferred over: Amherst, and (some other colleges)”

I only received the email/link for the myapplication.williams site which has status listed as “COMPLETE”. Is this the website where decisions will be posted or does the fated December 15th email have a link to a different site?

Also, I have heard rumors that many ED schools will post decisions online the Saturday morning BEFORE the 15th. Anyone know if Williams has done this in the past or plans to do that this year?

I actually emailed an Admissions Officer, and he said they mail out decisions on the 12th (expect 2-3 days for delivery), and put the admittance list online on the 15th. I was losing sleep over checking the website too many times. Any, we should all just be patient, as no one will be finding out until the 14th or 15th.
