Williams ED chances...

Hey everyone. So I applied ED to Williams College after being encouraged by the softball coach, who is recruiting me. I'm guessing my stats alone may not be enough, but what do you think my chances are as a recruited athlete?

SAT 1: 670 (M); 680 (CR); 700 (W)
SAT 2: 690 (spanish); 660 (Math1C)

3.9 Unweighted GPA; 21/380 in my class (~5%), fairly competitive public school

EC's:
-Varsity Softball (9-12, capt. 12)
-NHS 11-12
-School newspaper (12...this is the first year we've had it)
-Peer Leaders (12)
-Varsity Volleyball (10-12)
-Freshman basketball and soccer
-Varsity Winter Track (10)
-Junior Olympic Softball (9-12 during the summer, includes great deal of traveling for tournaments)
-Worked at subshop (11-12)
-Volunteering and community service (9-12)
-Helped organize Hurricane Katrina fundraiser (12)
-Not sure if this is an EC, but I've skied every winter my whole life and though I don't ski competitively I am very passionate about skiing.

I have 2 amazing teacher recommendations (both are also department heads), a really good peer recommendation and a decent guidance counselor recommendation.

My essay is about a skiing experience and is well written. My short EC essay from the common app is about softball, and came out very good.

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated, thanks!

Your in

recruited athelete, with a 1350 and top 5%, and you have great ECs

thanks

anyone else?

You'll get that letter soon.

Believe it or not, the way admissions work at Williams, your chances would actually be lower if your SATs were higher. The coaches get to tag a certain fixed number of athletes with below average GPAs/SATs - higher GPAs/SATs, and they often won't tag them, saving the tags for those who would not otherwise get in.

What did the coach say? (be precise.) Not that it matters - you'll know soon.
