To those rejected or deferred: I can't say I know how you feel, but I genuinely hope you find a school that is as good of a fit for you as Williams.

I'm not really a big fan of stats, but I will say that I am an athlete, but I didn't take an official recruiting trip or anything.

Deferred. Everyone I know, including me had a bad day outside of this, so I guess this just sealed the deal. Yay.

I'm just doing this to indulge myself, since I didn't do a chance thread.

Please, this isn't the Harvard board. Everybody has good scores and 60% of us are athletes. Putting your stats out there probably sends the wrong message. Congrats to all in the Class of 2013. Go Ephs.

well put!!!!

Okay, I agree it was a moment of weakness. I'd edit it away but I can't.

i was accepted. im not going to put any of my stats up though simply because i know they aren't the best and i've seen kids on here with higher scores who were rejected. i feel like i'd have to justify myself when it should be obvious that all these numbers and stats don't really matter, it just depends on the fit with the school.

Or amhersttttttttt :D

hahaha amherst, is it bad i'm more than excited to enter into a rivalry with that school? despite the fact that i almost applied there?

I took a campus tour and hated amherst, even though I thought I would like it better than Schmilliams.

Deferred.

Does anyone know what the percentage of deferred and denied students was?
I think they said that they accepted 225/616?

Deferred.
I am also wondering how many are deferred and denied. What are the chances for a deferral turning into acceptance in the RD round???

Accepted.

Williams '13!!

i was deferred. the admissions officer i talked to gave me a further explanation on my situation and did essentially tell me i should be in now and will almost definitely be in RD...but i still have my doubts. :( apparently the outlook is not good for deferred kiddos. this sucks.

What did you ask, and what did they say? Why did they say you weren't in now?

well, i called an admissions officer i've known and have been in contact with for like six months, so it was a personal conversation. i had no other way to get my decision, so i asked her to tell me. she said that, of the ~200 spots allocated for ED, 100 or so were for athletes, and they were mandated to accept a certain number of legacies, donors, etc. when it came down to it, she told me, they had about 30 legitimate spots for which to make decisions. sucks. since you asked, they told me that my 3 readers gave me the highest of recommendations and that, "even though it is unusual for deferred students not to have trouble getting in during RD," i should be ok and she had a good feeling about it. so... yeah. :-

I heard Williams can only priority mark 66 applications for athletes, and that 14 alone go to football

can't tell you more than i told you, haha. that is what the admissions officer told me.
