I just wrote my essay, and at the bottom of the document I have defined a few non-English terms that I used in my essay. Without the definitions, my essay is 290 words. However, with the definitions the essay is 330 words.

Will this be seen as going "above the limit", or will it be fine?

I think it will be fine. Thirty words over is pretty forgivable.

omgosh. mine is 550words.

but i thought that i couldn’t reduce the word count any further or else i ll lose the essence of my essay. will it be a dead arrow for me if i have 550words?

well as someone in the other thread on this essay put it very well “there better be a really good reason for those words”

they were talking about if you went over 350 words
so in your case there better be a REALLY good reason haha idk maybe consider rewriting?

330 is completely fine.

550, on the other hand, is simply too long. That’s almost twice the stated “limit” (which is a bit flexible, mind you).

So something like 307 words is okay? That’s mine…and I already sent it. That’s too bad; I trimmed a few parts to make it shorter. I hope it doesn’t suck now. I thought a shorter word limit would be easier to write, but it actually made it harder! I don’t think my essay is good enough :(
