I thought posters would have addressed this already, but obviously not.

I can't believe he is leaving. DS called yesterday afternoon as soon as it became public. What a shocker!

Williams built that house!

I have to say, I looked at Bullet and asked him do you think they approached him and said: Look at Fridge, one more yr like this yr and we will do the same to you?

I think he was a great coach for his time, but let's be honest NCAA is not the same as it was when he came on board decades ago.

New era for the Terps...Fridge and Williams gone in one yr!

I heard the news almost as soon as it broke and I was shocked. And I’m really sad about it too. I actually just met him briefly at the autograph signing on Maryland Day, and now this.

In my opinion I think this was Gary’s decision, I don’t think they did what they did with Fridge. Next year was looking promising, even with the departure of Jordan Williams. Now we may lose our top recruits for next year too. And we have to hope people like Stoglin and Howard don’t transfer. We should be bringing in a pretty big name though, so hopefully we can do that soon and try to keep players on before it all spirals downhill.

He deserves to retire. 33 years of coaching basketball and he is 66. Time to relax a bit. He will stay as an assistant athletic director. Today’s press conference/rally is online.

I am sure MD will recruit someone great.
