Williams vs. Amherst vs. Wesleyan

Those times are not accurate. I am a Long Islander and make this trip all the time.

First Wesleyan is not in Hartford – it’s in Middletown.

Yale and Wesleyan are actually quite close, with Yale closer.

One can’t say depending on traffic in the NY area because that’s the entire enchilada. Sunday morning three am it might take about an hour and a half. It could take up to three hours or even more with traffic. No way could one get to Wes in 45 minutes. It’s further Yale.

Amherst: Two hours, Williams: Three and a half hours.

I have driven to these schools at least six times each; Williams much more since my son is a student there. We considered three of these schools; Yale was off the table. Long Island admissions are so competitive S didn’t want to apply or go to a university.

You are right, Mythmom. Wesleyan is in Middletown. I must have been having a senior moment.

I normally fly into Hartford and drive to Amherst; it’s 45 minutes from the airport late at night and an hour during the day.

I have an apt in Manhattan that I sometimes set forth from. I take a train to New Haven and then drive to Amherst from there – 90 minutes to 2 hours depending on how fast you drive and what the traffic is like near Hartford.
