Williams vs Univ of Chicago

Congrats! You seem to have had some awesome college choices…:P

Duke? I hope the aid was as good as Williams and Chicago.

nods 'twas good enough to sway the decision partially

personally I’m still unconvinced about Duke… but hey, parents are parents =P

and yeah birdhouse, I got extremely lucky … even I couldn’t believe it (of course 7 ivy rejections later, your cockiness seems to abate considerably) =)

okay… it got weirder

apparently because of some last minute sending issue, I was NOT registered at Duke… and then following a long talk my mother had with an aunt in Denver, my parents became suddenly anti-Duke…

so now I’m in Chicago… =/

guess it really is in the stars

Does that mean you’ve decided to attend Chicago?
Or did you ask schools for more time to continue deciding?

This is a tragedy. Do you know what you want?

I have finally decided on Chicago

Yes… I want a liberal arts education side by side with my whole “pre-med” thing.

And I want to be in a large-ish city (more of a parental preference, but whatever)

And I don’t mind insanely smart people who make me insecure enough about my own level of intellect to keep struggling to better myself…

chicago? =P

I think Chicago is the best place for you.

I think you’ll be very happy at Chicago! Congratulations!

Duke and Williams are fairly preppy, meaning that athletics, drinking and partying are big parts of the culture. Chicago is probably the best choice for you in terms of personality. Just be ready to work from the beginning, because you don’t want to get behind in your classes early in the semester.

Williams is good, and Duke is good too. But all of us have you completely figured out now, and we agree, Chicago was your best choice. This is wonderful: for much less than the cost of the average public university, you are being offered a liberal arts education that is second to none. Good luck and congratulations!
