Williams/Wesleyan ED?

Okay, so Williams has the normal ED type thing and Wesleyan also has ED II, with a January 1st deadline i believe. My question is, since having two early decisions is pretty much illegal by college standards, would me applying to Williams ED and Wesleyan ED II fall under having two early decisions, or would they both be allowed considering they're different types?

It would be considered two early decisions. The only way that this would be allowed would be if you didn't get into Williams ED - then you could go ahead and apply ED II somewhere else.

As quaere said, you can apply to Williams regular ED, and then Wes ED II if you don't get in. And, fo course, you can send in your Wes EDII application before you here back from Williams, but you have to withdraw your application if you get in.

comment: while having some similarities, small, rural LACS, those two colleges have nearl diametrically opposing campus lives. Its hard for me to comprehend how they could be ED choices of the same student....

^^^ ditto. The title surprised me.

Strange but true, Williams and Wesleyan were my son's top two choices. In the end he chose Williams ED, was accepted and never looked back, but I have no doubt that he would have been equally happy at Wesleyan had things turned out differently.

What do they have in common? Size, intensity, academic rigor, sense of fun, commitment to the arts, intellectual focus. Although Wesleyan leans further left and Williams is more middleroad politically, I think there's more overlap in character than is immediately apparent.

They're both NESCAC colleges; the OP may want a blend of intellectualism and small college sports.
